Governor Albert Garcia led last December 15, the inauguration of the first swine multiplier and techno demo farm in Luzon located in Sitio Mt. Tarak, Barangay Alas-asin in Mariveles,
The Bataan Swine Multiplier and Technodemo Farm is a project initiated by the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian headed by Dr. Albert Venturina, which will serve as a hog breeder farm with a 30-sow level capacity to ensure an efficient and sustainable repopulation and recovery of the hog industry in the Province of Bataan.
“Taon-taon ay marami pong makikinabang, at matutulungan po ‘yong mga maliliit nating mga hog raisers para makatayo muli at lumago ang kanilang negosyo para maka-contribute sa food security at maging affordable ang presyo ng baboy dito sa ating Lalawigan.” -Gov. Albert Garcia said.
A Memorandum of Agreement between the Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) and Watchlife Workers Multipurpose Cooperative, the partner cooperative which will manage the daily operations of the farm and provide 30% of its produce to the PGB, was signed on the same day.
Also present at the event were Vice Governor Cris Garcia, Board member Popoy Del Rosario, Director of the National Livestock Program Dr. Ruth Miclat-Sonaco, Regional Technical Director DA-RFO3 Dr. Eduardo Lapuz, Center Director of the Agricultural Training Institute Dr. Mario Lapitan, Mariveles Councilor Angel Sunga, and Alas-asin Brgy. Chairman Florante Malimban.
